أما فريق بيرسبوليس الإيراني فيحتل المركز السابع برصيد 6 نقاط حصدهم من فوز وتعادل 3 مرات فيما نال هزيمتين.
وتقام مباريات مرحلة الدوري بمشاركة 24 ناديًا موزعين على منطقتي الغرب والشرق، حيث يتواجد في مجموعة الغرب كل من (الهلال السعودي- الأهلي السعودي- النصر السعودي- السد القطري- الوصل الإماراتي-الغرافة القطري- الريان القطري- استقلال طهران الإيراني- بيرسبوليس الإيراني- باختاكور الأوزبكستاني- الشرطة العراقي- والعين الإماراتي).
فيما يتنافس في المجموعة الأخرى أندية شرق آسيا، إذ تقام منافسات مرحلة الدوري في الفترة من 16 سبتمبر 2024 وحتى 19 فبراير 2025.

Trusty was part of the Sheffield United defence relegated from the Premier League in 2023/24, appearing 32 times as his side conceded a mammoth 104 goals across the 38 campaign.
The former Arsenal man was a different story in the Championship during his time with Birmingham City though, hailed as "incredible" by fellow defender George Friend.
“I think Trusty has been incredible. I don’t think in the whole time I have been in the Championship I have seen anyone better at coming from a league abroad and just taking to the Championship so easily."

Rangers need to find their groove and hit a consistent run of form to give themselves a chance of catching up with Celtic and providing real competition for the title by May.
James Tavernier is one player who may be crucial to their chances if he remains a Rangers player, amid reports linking him with a possible move to Turkey or Qatar.

The right-back is a big source of goals and assists for the Light Blues with his ability to push forward and make a difference in the final third, whilst also being a terrific penalty and set-piece taker.
However, there are question marks over his quality out of possession after another slip-up in an Old Firm clash, as he allowed Daizen Maeda to get the run on him for the first goal and got lucky with Reo Hatate's huge miss after failing to pick up the midfielder at the back post.
Last year, former Rangers defender Steven Whittaker claimed that Tavernier needs to work on his defensive work, which still appears to be the case based on his latest showing against Celtic.
Tavernier does, though, make up for some of his defensive faults with his work on the ball. The 32-year-old ace has plundered eight goals and seven assists in all competitions in 2024 for the Light Blues.

As you can see in the table above, the English full-back has yet to find the back of the net in the Premiership this season, but has provided two assists.
Rangers need Tavernier to get back to his goalscoring best to ensure that the team gets back to winning ways and starts to move closer to the top of the table.
One former Gers player whose current form suggests that he could have been a big asset as a goalscorer to Clement is ex-academy starlet Lewis Morgan, who the club fumbled.

The Scottish forward joined the academy set-up in Glasgow at the age of eight and spent eight years there before being released at the age of 16 in 2012.
He later revealed that Rangers wanted to have the biggest, physical, players in the country in his age group and that meant that Morgan was deemed surplus to requirements, due to his physical stature.
The winger used his rejection at Ibrox to motivate him to push on and forge a career for himself elsewhere, which is exactly what he did over the subsequent years.
St Mirren swooped to sign him on a free transfer from Rangers ahead of the 2012/13 campaign and the talented youngster went on to make the breakthrough at senior level there, with 29 goals and 23 assists in 118 appearances in all competitions.
His form convinced Celtic to bring him back to Glasgow, on the other side, in January 2018 but his spell with the Hoops did not go to plan in the end.
His time in green and white ended with a return of just two goals and three assists in 31 appearances in all competitions, whilst he also managed two goals and four assists in 22 games for Sunderland on loan in that time.
Celtic opted to cash in on the attacker in January 2020 amid interest from MLS side Inter Miami, where Morgan produced seven goals and seven assists in 58 matches before being sold to New York Red Bulls at the end of 2021.

The 27-year-old star enjoyed a terrific first campaign with New York as he plundered an eye-catching 18 goals and three assists in 37 outings in 2022.
He then suffered a hip injury that resulted in him only being able to make six appearances in all competitions in 2023, before his return to form this term.
Morgan has been on fire in 2024 and has racked up more goals in the MLS than Tavernier has managed in all competitions for Rangers this year.

As you can see in the table above, the Scotland international has scored four more goals than the Gers captain this year, and has outperformed his xG in the process.
The New York star may be frustrated by his teammates, meanwhile, for his low assist tally, as they have not made the most of the 'big chances' that he has created for them this year.
Last season, no Rangers midfielder or winger scored more than 11 league goals in the Premiership, which suggests that the potential is there for Morgan to be the biggest goal threat in his position at Ibrox.
The former Gers man could have been a huge asset to Clement in the final third but the Light Blues blundered by releasing the talented gem at academy level, instead of giving him an opportunity to develop and shine.

Harmanpreet Kaur believes that a lack of adequate game time in the longest format in the lead-up to India Women’s return to Test cricket after nearly seven years can be offset in some measure by cultivating a positive outlook and heeding advice received from Ajinkya Rahane.”I’ve played only two red-ball matches [in international cricket]. As a batting group when we have a discussion… this time we got a chance to speak to Rahane as well,” Kaur, the India Test vice-captain, said of her “easy and friendly talk” with her male counterpart. “He shared his knowledge with us as to how to approach batting in the longest format and how one should divide their innings into parts.”We may not have much practice under our belt [going into the Test], but mentally [we are prepared]. We’ve discussed a lot of things so we prepare ourselves well for the match. Even in the nets, we’ve tried to be in a good frame of mind because when you are happy, other than thinking too much about your batting, you tend to play well.”Both the Indian teams served a hard quarantine in Southampton upon arriving in the UK on June 3. The women’s contingent travelled to Bristol on Monday for the one-off Test against hosts England that begins on Wednesday. The opening fixture of a seven-match multi-format assignment, the Test marks India’s first outing in the format since the one-off Test at home against South Africa in November 2014. وكانت قرعة دور الـ8 لبطولة دوري أبطال إفريقيا، التي أقيمت اليوم الخميس في الدوحة- قطر، قد اسفرت عن مواجهة الأهلي لنظيره الهلال السوداني.
وقال متعب في تصريحات تلفزيونية بفضائية “أون تايم سبورتس”: “مواجهة صعبة جدًا أمام الهلال السوداني، وفي الأدوار الإقصائية لا يمكنك اختيار منافسك، عليك أن تكون جاهزًا لمواجهة أي فريق”.

وشدد على أن التفكير الأساسي لأي فريق يسعى للتتويج باللقب لا يجب أن ينصب على هوية المنافس، بل على كيفية تحقيق الفوز، مضيفًا: “البطل لا يشغل باله بمن سيواجه، بل يركز على طريقة التعامل مع المباراة وكيفية تحقيق الانتصار”.
وأشار متعب إلى أن الأهلي يمتلك ميزة كبيرة في هذه المواجهة، نظرًا لأن الهلال لن يخوض المباراة على ملعبه، مما قد يمنح الفريق المصري أفضلية إضافية.
ولفت متعب إلى تفوق الأهلي في تاريخ المواجهات المباشرة بين الفريقين، لكنه شدد على ضرورة التركيز الكامل وعدم التفكير في أي مباراة أخرى قبل تخطي عقبة الهلال.
وتابع: “يجب ألا يفكر اللاعبون في صن داونز أو الترجي قبل عبور هذه المرحلة، فاللاعبين الحاليين يمتلكون خبرات كبيرة، ونتيجة مباراة الذهاب ستكون عاملًا حاسمًا للأهلي”.
وأعرب متعب عن ثقته في قدرة الفريق على تحقيق نتيجة إيجابية، مؤكدًا أن الحضور الجماهيري في ستاد القاهرة سيكون عاملًا رئيسيًا في دعم اللاعبين، متممًا: “جماهير الأهلي هي السند الحقيقي، وستاد القاهرة سيمتلئ لدعم الفريق”.
واختتم حديثه بالإشادة بقدرات الفريق الهجومية الحالية، مؤكدًا أن الأهلي يمتلك تنوعًا كبيرًا في المراكز وجاهزية قوية بين اللاعبين، وهو ما يمنحه فرصًا كبيرة للتقدم في البطولة والمنافسة على اللقب.

Alexander Isak at Newcastle
One of, if not the clubs biggest successes in the transfer market since the new ownership took over, is Isak, who joined for a club-record fee of £63m from Real Sociedad back in 2022. Isak made 27 appearances in his debut season for the Magpies, scoring ten goals, providing three assists, and totaling 1680 minutes played.
His second season at the club came with further success, making 40 appearances in all competitions, scoring 25 goals, providing two assists, and totaling 2,973 minutes, with many now viewing Isak as one of the best strikers in the division.
The 25-year-old striker is now in his third season at the club, and is seen as one of their prized assets, earning a sizeable £120k-p/w according to Capology.
However, there is another player at the club who is earning the same wages, but not quite performing to the desired standard.
Kieran Trippier's time to go
Another player who arrived at the club in their new project under new ownership is Kieran Trippier, who joined the Toon back in January 2022 for a fee of around £12m plus add-ons from Atletico Madrid.

But despite the 34-year-old being a brilliant servant in his years at the club, his time could be coming to an end at The Toon, having dropped a poor performance against Fulham last weekend, one that was marked as a 4/10 by the Chronicle.
Trippier is earning as much as the star man, Isak, per week, making £120k, but with Valentino Livramento ready to take over as the starting right-back, the England international’s wages become more feasible to offload, as Newcastle continue to build their squad for the future.

Whilst Trippier is still putting up good passing numbers and creative numbers (something he will always do due to his set piece threat), Livramento is adding far more in the sense of athleticism, speed, and recovery speed for defending transitions.
Livramento adds far more defensive actions per 90 minutes than Trippier, whilst not losing too much attacking threat, as whilst the elder defender offers precise passing, the former Southampton man offers a bombing overlap option to help support Harvey Barnes on the right wing.
As Livramento begins to take over the right-back spot, phasing out Trippier, it may be time for Newcastle to move their high earner on, saving money, and allowing the younger option the keys to that position on a full-time basis.
