Loads of Liverpool fans have been reacting to England’s dominant performance against Czech Republic, and they’ve got plenty to say about Jordan Henderson.
Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions kicked off their Euro 2020 qualification campaign in fine style on Friday night, sweeping Czech Republic aside thanks to a Raheem Sterling hat trick.
Wembley was witness to some lovely football in the first half, and it was Henderson, together with Harry Kane, who forged the opening opportunity for Jadon Sancho to lay on a plate for Sterling’s first.
The 5-0 scoreline doesn’t flatter Southgate’s side either – they were first to every ball and better in absolutely every aspect, though their defending at set pieces is cause for concern.
Mo Salah has been brutally mocked for his recent diving antics in a new video by 442oons. Check it out below…
Just as he is at Liverpool, Henderson is the leader in Southgate’s midfield, and his pressing and passing were both top notch against a very weak Czech side.
The Reds skipper led the game in touches with 102 and completed 86 per cent of his passes, per Whoscored.
There are a few on Merseyside who are not too happy though, taking issue with the captain’s departure from the game in Munich and subsequent absence against Fulham after he romped about the Wembley turf at 100 per cent for a full 90 minutes.

According to El Confidencial, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has urged Los Blancos president Florentino Perez to move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen.
Eriksen will see his current deal with Tottenham expire at the end of next season.
And it does appear that the Denmark international – valued at £76.5m by Transfermarkt – will look to leave his London club.
Real Madrid are expected to spend this summer due to their struggles this season, with El Confidencial claiming that Eriksen is a priority for the Spanish giants.
Eriksen has been a wonderful servant to Spurs since arriving from Ajax in 2013, scoring 63 times and providing 81 assists in 264 appearances in all competitions.
However, a number of the Premier League club’s supporters feel that it is time for the 27-year-old to move on.
Eriksen has scored seven times for Spurs this season, but has lacked consistency and it does appear that his head is already elsewhere.
A selection of the Twitter reaction from the Tottenham fans can be seen below:

The circus that has unravelled since Darren Moore’s sacking at West Brom has left fans of the club on Twitter bemused as some supporters now see the only viable managerial option as James Shan, the current caretaker boss.
Shan has guided the club to two wins from his two games in charge, leaving certain individuals under the impression that with seemingly no plan in place, he would be the best bet until the end of the season.
This comes after an update from the Express & Star’s Matt Wilson suggested that Preston wanted to keep hold of Baggies target Alex Neil.
West Brom are fighting for promotion and sit in 4th place in the Championship. But despite their good league position, the Hawthorns faithful have been left angry over a lack of developments in their search for a new permanent manager.
The recent news led to one supporter claiming the list of targets wasn’t very exciting, arguing that because things hadn’t been sorted, it now looked likely Shan would keep the job.
Some reaction has seen supporters urge for the 40-year-old to be kept until the end of the season. That’s before appointing someone like Slavisa Jokanovic when the club will have a better idea of what division they’ll be in.
Was Darren Moore’s sacking unfair? The Pl>ymaker FC squad name which Championship bosses should have gone instead in the video below…
A specific individual claimed the club should bring back Gary Megson to link up with Shan whilst another hoped no one would come into work alongside him, citing the poor relationship the club had with Graeme Jones, assistant manager to Moore.
Here’s what was said about Shan and the current situation after Wilson’s update hit Twitter…
After dominating the National League for most of the season, it’s all starting to slowly fall apart for Leyton Orient.
A last-gasp equaliser on the weekend against FC Halifax Town kept the O’s in with a chance of taking back top spot if they win their game in hand over Eastleigh this week, but the last result in a bad string of performances has led many to think what has gone wrong with Justin Edinburgh’s side.
Winter signing and returning hero Jay Simpson has failed to live up to the reputation a player of his quality has, and fellow striker Macauley Bonne has been lacklustre since the turn of the year, scoring just four times.
But what sticks out the most in the past few weeks is how poor the defence has been for Orient, and if the back line doesn’t sort out their act soon in the upcoming must-win games, the east London side might find themselves missing out on promotion to the Football League.
This is a team who has one of the best defences in the National League, conceding the least amount of goals all season in the division with 32 and the third best out of any team in the professional leagues in England only behind Manchester City and Liverpool, and for Orient to start showing cracks now heading into the final games of the season is playing with fire.
Their 2-2 draw against Halifax was one of Orient’s worst defensive displays all season and had it not been for late heroics from Matt Harrold the quest for the National League title would have been significantly harder.
Orient need to recover going into the final games of the season, and keeping clean sheets will be the bedrock of the club picking up wins in the remaining matches that could send the O’s back into the Football League.
Leyton Orient fans, can the O’s re-find their defensive stability? Let us know!
Liverpool would be interested in signing Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves according to the club’s assistant manager, Pep Lijnders, per O Jogo.
The Portugal international has been in excellent form for the club this season, scoring four goals and laying on three assists in all competitions prior to this weekend as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have consistently flirted with the top-seven.
And Lijnders told the Portuguese outlet: “I know him very well, his ambition, his passion for the game, his professionalism. I know what he gives to the team and this type of player always interests us. I recognised him when I saw him at Wolves. I saw technique, professionalism. I saw the 2013-14 player I knew.”
With the transfer window approaching, Football FanCast considers the potential consequences of Neves moving to Anfield this summer. Take a look below!
Henderson phased out
Jordan Henderson is a limited but experienced and passionate midfielder.
The England international had played 35 games in all competitions this season before the weekend but manager Jurgen Klopp already appears to be preparing for the day that the 28-year-old leaves the club.
Prior to Sunday’s clash with Chelsea, he had completed 90 minutes in the Premier League just ten times.
Signing Neves would only see those opportunities limited further.
It is unlikely that Fabinho or Naby Keita would be dropped for Neves, and would likely play alongside him in a 4-3-3.
The obvious casualty, then, is Henderson.
Another transfer record broken

Pep Guardiola can’t afford Neves.
That’s Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, the club with all the money in the world.
Wolves have reportedly placed an asking price of £110million on the jewel in their current crown.
Guardiola replied thus, per the London Evening Standard: “A month ago, I started reading – ‘Ruben Neves, £100m. That is not going to happen, we are not going to pay £100m for a holding midfielder.”
Liverpool might.
They broke the world transfer record for a goalkeeper when they signed Alisson Becker and did the same with a defender when they secured Virgil van Dijk from Southampton. The highest current transfer fee for a midfielder is Paul Pogba – who cost Manchester United £89m. The top three transfers of all time – Neymar and Kylian Mbappe to PSG and Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus – all involved attackers.
Liverpool could well break the record for a midfielder if they convince Neves to move to Anfield.
A lack of dynamism
Ruben Neves in action for Wolves in the FA Cup semi-final.
Despite the potentially extortionate price, would Neves really change all that much?
Liverpool’s current problem in midfield is a lack of attacking thrust. Fabinho, Keita and Henderson, plus Georginio Wijnaldum, are all exceptional water-carriers and travel with the ball well. But they all lack the ability to score or create regularly.
Fabinho, Keita and Henderson had all scored once this term, Wijnaldum twice, before the weekend.
Neves had scored just four goals heading into this gameweek and, while he has a penchant for the spectacular, he would not solve the issue.
He would surely add something, of course he would, but spending £100m on a player who will not truly take the team to the next level is not the kind of strategy Klopp should be employing this summer.
Despite two loses on the bounce, the current dip in form surely won’t detract from how good Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been since taking over and the permanent job should really still be given to the legendary United forward, fans believe.
Indeed, the fact of the matter is, any manager is bound to endure some defeats during his time in the hot seat and Solskjaer is no different.
His time in charge at Old Trafford has been nothing short of brilliant so far, having ensured Manchester United are challenging for a place in the top four and they’re still in the Champions League, something that looked impossible whilst Jose Mourinho was manager.
Clearly, confidence is flowing through the team with players re-finding not only their love for the game but also their greatest capabilities.
United fans have really enjoyed watching their team flourish and they truly believe with a few top signings in the summer, they will be established title contenders once again.
To start with, a centre-back as good as Benfica’s Ruben Dias would do wonders for United’s backline and could make all the difference to their silverware hopes for next season. Dias, (who is valued at £25.2 million on Transfermarkt) is on the road to enjoying a fabulous career in football and a move to Manchester United would be a step in the right direction.
With far more exposure coming at a club like United, Ruben Dias could make a big impression alongside Victor Lindelof for example.
He’s played 25 times in the league this season, helping by providing two goals, an assist and eleven clean-sheets.
The 21-year-old is equipped with modern-day skills for a defender, not afraid to pass the ball around and has pace to be adaptable across the backline.
Manchester United fans, would you back such a move? You’ve been linked with Dias before in the Sun and he’d certainly be an exciting prospect! Join the discussion by commenting below…
John Obi Mikel has put all his focus on getting back to the Premier League with Middlesbrough, spurning the opportunity to return to the international fray in doing so.
Nigeria’s German manager, Gernot Rohr, had hoped to lure the former Chelsea man back into the mix, but his plea fell on deaf ears.
The African Football website report that Rohr said: “He has so many games in Middlesbrough to look forward to, they are fighting for the play-offs too.
“He told me it is not the moment to return but if Obi Mikel is very fit again and has the motivation, then the door is open.
“I am not like Joachim Low who announced that three of his players are definitely out of the German national team, I never say that because you never know what can happen.
“We are watching and will see if he can come back. We also need experience in our team, we have so many young players.”
Obi Mikel’s attitude — putting Middlesbrough first — is exactly what fans want to hear.
If Boro’ are to get past their current wobble in form, they need all players to follow his lead, and put all other distractions out of their minds, and concentrate on finishing the job they have been aiming for all season.
It is also nice to have an international manager that is listening to his players, and understands what is happening at their clubs.
He, therefore, is sympathetic to the fact that Obi Mikel has rightly put Boro’ first, and as a result, has not slammed the door in his face for future potential call-ups.
What do you think of the dedication and commitment Obi Mikel has shown for the Boro’ run-in? We think it is a positive thing, do you? Let us know your thoughts…
Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a double summer swoop for Jack Grealish and Diogo Jota, according to the Daily Express.
The Aston Villa and Wolves stars are on Mauricio Pochettino’s shortlist as Spurs chairman Daniel Levy prepares to release funds.
What’s the word?
Spurs have not signed a player since January of 2018, when Lucas Moura moved to north London.
Grealish was a top target in the summer but Spurs failed to complete a move for the Championship star, who has been in exceptional form since returning from injury.
Indeed, he has scored two goals in four games following his comeback, including the winner in the Second City Derby against Birmingham City.
Jota, too, has enjoyed a fine season at Wolves, scoring seven goals and laying on five assists and Pochettino, per the Express, believes that he can help ease the burden on striker Harry Kane.
The Express report that Jota cost around £12.6million in January 2018, joining from Atletico Madrid.
Wolves would loathe to lose one of their best players after such an impressive debut season in the Premier League; they are currently seventh and look set to qualify for the Europa League this term.
Wonderful additions
Jota and Grealish are exactly what Spurs need.
The Wolves star is an excellent, versatile forward, equally adept at playing as a winger or as a central striker.
Grealish, too, has shown his exceptional range of talent at Villa Park and is a homegrown alternative to Denmark international Christian Eriksen, whose future remains under question.
Pochettino appears set to restructure his playing squad this summer for the first time in two seasons and starting off with attacking reinforcements is a smart move.
Kane, after all, cannot continue to shoulder the burden of scoring all the goals at White Hart Lane.
This promises to be an exciting summer for Spurs fans and players alike.
